Throughout the year I tat, and knit and stitch and keep myself entertained with string. The creations all end up in a special place and when I need a gift for someone – voila! I pick a treasure from the creations, wrap it up and the gift is ready.
I can’t figure out if I was less active, more generous or if little gremlins are helping themselves to my stash; but at the moment I only have a couple of items left – two little tatted bookmarks.
Can these two bookmarks spur maddening creativity? Will they inspire unending clicking of shuttles and needles? Will they magically reproduce?
With only 353 days until Christmas I need to replenish the treasure chest!
What are your “go to projects” when you need a gift? Is it something quick and lovely? Do you plan ahead and create beautiful items that take weeks to finish? Do you have links to patterns online, refer to your books or make stuff up on your own?

Well I'll be jiggered - that's exactly what I'm doing at the moment. Replenishing 'stocks'!!!! GR8 minds think alike, eh?
I've never thought to have a supply of giveaway items. That really is brilliant!! When I am going to gift someone something, I also make it for the occasion. But I truly like your idea, I may have to adapt something along those lines.
Lately, I've been tatting a lot of my Starflower design. We switch them out on Livi's hair clip since they fit over a button. Since I have so many different HDT colors, she has quite a few in some very pretty colors. On occasion, I give some of these flowers away for button hairclips for some of her friends. It's an easy pattern and takes me about an hour, so not too bad. :o)
Ha! There must be a vibe going through Tatland! I've started a treasure chest of tatting as well! I admit I'm still stuck in snowflake mode, but my mind has been wandering to the land of bookmarks and hankies.
What a great idea!!
Beautiful tatting!!! :)
Well it depends on what and who the gift is for - as to what I make or take from my "collection" of gifts to give". When I find something "special" I just tat it up (sometimes two or three in different colors). Then when I need a "gift" in a hurry, I'll check to see what "fits" that person. I try to have several different things on hand. But when it's something very special, then I'll take out my books and start searching for that "just right item" for that person.
Piękne prace! Z przyjemnością poobserwuję :))
