I'm trying to tat what I think looks like a fairly simple little doily motif but something's gone wrong.
The fourth round is pulling too tight - curling up the motif.

Last round of tatting refuses to lie flat even with pressing |
I must have done something wrong following the pattern but I can't figure it out. I'll have to cut off the last round and try again. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? Pattern below.

The diagram show a the first chain connected to one ring and the second connected to two rings. That sequence continues to complete the round.
On your doily, it appears that the sequence has been altered and several chains next to one another that are connected to two rings.
Could this be the problem? If so, the good news is that it can be corrected. The disappointing news is that you will need to re-tat this row. :( Good Luck, it is a pretty project!
Your picot looks longer than the original one. This makes the length of circumference longer.
This last round has less picot to connect, therefor the difference got larger.
I think it would work if you make your picot much smaller. But you have to restart from the first round to do so.
Or you can try to connect the every chain of last round to one ring and increase the number of clover.
I agree with Yoko Sato that your picot length is a large part of the problem. The original design used very small picots. They are almost invisible between the rings. Rather than starting over, I would follow Yoko's advise of using the shorter chain for this round and joining to every other ring of the previous round. However, you need to be prepared to adjust the number of rings between those clovers in the next round to get your circle, but don't change your picot length at this point in this project unless you are starting over from the beginning.
