My messy starching job left lots of residue. I tried to scrape it off but it didn't work.
Any suggestions how to fix?

You could try washing it again in washing up liquid, and allow it to dry and see if it needs stiffening

Hey this is carollyn from Carollyn's tatting blog. I do snowflakes all the time and mainly it use fray check to stiffen the flakes and hairspray works and a sugar water solution works great with out leaving residue and all your beautiful work shows through.
