Flying Minor Norwegian Dragon

I finally did it!
I made the Flying Minor Norwegian Dragon by Anne Bruvold.

Thanks to a tip from Tatting Chic who told me that regular split rings would work in this pattern.
Thank goodness too because I can't figure out Single Shuttle Split Rings.
I'll keep trying though.

I just did a regular picot for the ears because I don't know how to do a twisted picot. Another thing I need to learn!

I made the dragon in DMC size 80 tatting thread.
For a first try, I think I should have used something larger, but that's what was on my shuttle.
I'll keep practicing though and someday my dragons might look almost as good as Anne's!

I tried again, this time using size 8 pearl cotton.
This dragon's wings look better than my first try.
Practice makes perfect they say so I'll keep practicing.

Nice work. I'm seeing more plain white lately in tatting photos and I'm loving it!

very nice. I love doing split rings. I find them fun. I use two shuttles, as I didn't know you could do it with one. Have fun!
